While the NATO Summit will have charted the course of transatlantic security discussions for the next two years, political questions about the transatlantic relationship remain.

The most important is the issue of transatlantic burden-sharing, which U.S. President Donald Trump has emphasized since his election. How will the Czech Republic and other European partners ensure that they respect the Wales spending pledge? And how will this money fit in the overall deterrence effort of NATO? How will the current efforts undertaken by the EU help these efforts, and what can the EU contribute in terms of ensuring European security?

With the participation of Rachel Rizzo, Research Associate, Center for a New American Security (Washington D.C.), and Ivan Gabal, ex-member of Parliament of the Czech Republic and of the Security and Defense committees (2013-2017).

The program will be in English. In cooperation with Europeum Institute for European Policy.
